Isibars integrates backward into Steel Melting and Hot-Rolling by acquiring a steel plant in Khopoli, and work begins to expand capacity, upgrade technology and increase product range. Isibars floats a joint venture marketing company, Isibars Europe GmbH based in Dusseldorf, Germany, for better customer service, and starts a wire division by setting up a Wire-Drawing plant at Khalapur under the name Isinox Steels Ltd. A Bright Bar Division is started at Khopoli and the Bright Bar capacity at Navi Mumbai is increased. Isibars sets up a state-of-the-art Bar & Rod Rolling Mill sourced from Pomini S.p.A. of Italy, at Khopoli.
