Southern Ispat Ltd is setting up an integrated steel plant at Kannur, Kerala, with an investment of Rs 500 crore. The plant will produce 1,000 mt of sponge iron, 800 mt of steel billet, 50 mp by waste heat recovery, and one structural and TMT bar rolling mill. The company was to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation on September 23. The proposed land is to be acquired from the state government through KSIDC. |
