KUMAR family of Monohar Pukur Road, Cal: - 29 decided to start a “foundry Industry” in the heart of the city with a view to manufacture high quality, highly sophisticated castings both of C.I & Aluminium to meet the requirements of demand prevailing at the time of inception.Under the flag ship of Mr. Govardhan Kumar(deceased) of Kumar family took the challenge & Industry was formed under the trade name of “KUMAR INDUSTRIES” situated at l95, Picnic Garden Road, KOLKATA – 700 039 on 2nd JULY, l957. He then in later days took his two sons Mr.BADRINARAYAN KUMAR (Deceased) and Mr. NEMAI CHANDRA KUMAR as his partners to run the Industry smoothly.

During the inception, the Industry was equipped with Cupola Furnace, Shivel Machine with an average production capacity of 25/30 M.T of C.I & Aluminium castings per month. The Industry with active supervision of the above partners the production gear up gradually and as a result of which the 2nd Cupola Furnace with the production capacity of 60/70 M.T of C.I Castings was installed in the year l980.During this period the company has acquired an order from (1) Ranjit Shipping Corporation for their Export , (2) Greaves Cotton Ltd(FTZ) & other domestic buyers like (3) India Engineering Works (4) Record Machineries P. Ltd (5) C.S.Sarkar Pvt. Ltd (6) Premier Irrigation & Equipment Pvt. Ltd (7) Nipha Exports Pvt. Ltd (8) Dum Dum Valves & Bearings Pvt. Ltd.
