From a humble beginning in February 1985 as a private limited company, today, Atlantic Shipping Pvt. Ltd. (ASPL) is one of the leading Port agencies in India with strong fundamentals. Thanks to our esteemed principals all over the world, for fuelling our urge to go beyond!. ASPL’s share-out of foreign-flag and coastal tanker traffic at Indian Ports is over 50% and 75% respectively. On an average ASPL handles about 160 foreign flag vessels per month of which 120 are tankers and 40 are dry bulkers… etc. Besides, ASPL also handles about 100 calls per month of coastal tankers at various Indian ports. ASPL has a net-work of its own Branch Offices at all Indian Ports managed by well experienced local staff and hence no sub-agents are involved. Being locals these Branch Office staff maintain excellent rapport with Terminal, Port, Customs, Income Tax, Immigration…etc authorities and capable of handling any complicated matters smoothly. The Branch Offices are well equipped with the latest communication systems and VHF facility. Mobile telephone is provided to every vessel at berth for smooth flow of communication between Master and the Branch Office.

ASPL’s Head Office is based in Mumbai, having at the helm of affairs, a team of professionals from the oil and shipping industries. ASPL has two Divisions for handling Port Agency – Liquid Cargo and Dry Cargo both in the Operations and Accounts Departments. Further, in the Liquid Cargo Division, there are two Sections, one for handling vessels of the Public (Government) Sector companies and another for handling vessels of the Private Sector Companies. The total all India staff strength of ASPL is 305. Apart from Operations and Accounts Departments, ASPL also has Marketing Department for business development and HR / Administration Department to provide the necessary support services.

They provide Services such as Ship Related Services : Co-ordination between Ship Owners, Charterers, Receivers etc. Including documentation. Handling Port formalities for ship's movements. Handling Customs, Immigration, Port Health formalities. Meeting ship's requirements for Bunkers, Fresh Water, Provisions, Stores, Crew Change, Workshops/Under Water Services, Survey attendance including P & I Club, etc. Handling cash to master. Organizing Air Travel, Hotel Booking, transportation, Launch Services, Medical Aid, etc for Ship's Personnel. Arranging conversion / reversion of vessels by Customs from Foreign to Coastal run & vice-versa including duty payments / refunds and obtaining Coastal License from Director General of Shipping.
