Nrityanjali started in 1989 to promote forgotten traditional folk dance/theatre forms and in 1991 it started it's Folk. In 1992 P.Narsing Rao, produced & directed 'Vishwavilapam'('Cry of Universe') a dance ballet. The ballet mainly potrays the importance of protecting the 5 elements of Nature. This ballet was well recieved and applauded by the audience as well as the T.V and Print Media. Then the same ballet was presented in Schools/Colleges and in remote villages of Andhra Pradesh. In year 1993 another ballet called "Mutyapuchippalu" was produced & directed. Looking at the response of these ballets, DDS & Forest Department of Andhra Pradesh supported the performances of these ballets in schools.

In 1995 Dept. of Environment & Forests sanctioned a project for the organisation to start 35 eco clubs in 35 schools. In 1999 with the help of DFID & APSACS sanctioned a project on "Partnership on Sexual Health" for Nrityanjali. In year 2000 DESH of Chennai supported the organisation RCH project with 2000 families.. In year 2002 Nrityanjali started the CRS (Catholic Relief Services), Home & Community based Care & Support Programme for PLWHA.
