Many years ago, when Smt. Usha Gupta came to Visakhapatnam, it was the scenic beauty of the Port City, which captivated her. While investment potential for business ventures was felt promising, it was the artistic and creative arena which lacked a formal platform in the city. Realising the need for the same, Smt. Usha took the initiative and spearheaded Jhankaar Institute of Dance and Modelling. Soon, students of various age groups started to enrol for sessions in folk and western dance forms. Classes in modelling included interactive sessions in which students were taught to do ramp walks, pose for still and video shoots along with tips on general grooming and make-up. |

A strong team of dance professionals imparts finer skills on Indian and Western Dance forms to participants and students. Ace choreographers train upcoming models in walking on the ramp with confidence, to strike poses at indoor and outdoor venues, make-up tips for still and video camera shoots and more. Western dance forms such as Salsa, Foxtrot, Jive and Hip-hop are tutored by Mr Rizwan and Mr Srinivas. Classical Indian dance forms such as Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Odissi are taught by well-known teacher Mr Mahesh Babu. Ms Meena Vaishnav teaches elegant and lively steps for dances such as Rajasthani folk dances, 'Dandiya raas' and 'filmi' dances. |
