There are very few theaters in the densely populated Mehdipatnam area. Of these, only Amba screens Telugu movies. And it does a spanking good job of bringing the latest movies and regularly changing them. Doing this caters to all kinds of audiences, so they don't have to drive down into the heart of the city to catch their favorite heroes in action.
Like an oasis in a desert, Amba's being bang in the middle of Mehdipatnam makes viewers flock the theater on all days, at all times. During the morning show and the matinee, the theater might deceptively look like an educational institution. This might have something to do with the large number of junior and engineering colleges in the vicinity.
The theater's 'infrastructure' is pretty average. With its cramped seats, crampier legroom, pan-splattered walls and dusty lobby, it isn't really worth your money. The snack stand is no great shakes. Although the theater has ample parking space, getting in and out is quite a challenge.
The best thing about Amba is its location. Many people also come to Amba from mid-town just because the black tickets sold here are cheaper and more haggle-able than in ters inside town. |
