Rotary positive displacement twin-screw pumps manufactured by UT Pumps & Systems are available with external bearing design. These twin screw pumps handle all clean media of low viscosity, like gasoline, hydrocarbons, sea water and also highly viscous liquids, such as mineral oils, bitumen, glues, molasses, etc. With the correct selection of material, aggressive media, such as acids, can also be pumped. The pumps are self-priming and have low NPSH requirements (up to 1.5 m). Liquid with high proportion of entrained gases or air up top 70 per cent can also be pumped easily. Since the pumping elements, i.e., the screws run free of contact, it is possible to pump lubricating or non-lubricating liquids and also the pumps can run dry. This feature is very useful for stripping tanks and also long suction lines. The twin-screw pumps find applications in loading, unloading, booster, transfer process application in power plants, oil terminals, refineries, chemical, etc. These pumps are available in different sizes for maximum capacity 200 m3/hr and discharge pressure up to 50 bar and operating temperature up to 450°C.
