LCS had designed and developed a state-of-the-art controller for UTM machines. The controller accepts input from strain gauge based load sensor and optical encoder/digital linear scale. The dual display controller enables the display both load and displacement. Simultaneously, the system can be connected to PC for generation of customized reports and graphical trends. The test parameters like length, thickness area, and specimen details can be entered through membrane keypad and pressing the start button can start the system. The system has option for tension or compression, based on which, it generates a forward or reverse control till the maximum load/displacement reached. The controller trips the system incases of any abnormality including breakage of specimen loaded. Based on achieved data, the system, automatically calculates tensile strength at peak load, yield stress, etc. These parameters can be directly printed by connecting the system to printer or can be transferred to PC for further processing.
