| Business Summary |
The college was established in the year 1997 under the aegis of the Rajalakshmi Educational Trust, whose members have had consummate experience in the fields of education and industry. The college has drawn up an ambitious plan to offer a range of courses in management and engineering, in areas such as telecom, banking services, retailing, software, automobiles, hospitals, environmental sciences, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, etc, to name a few. These courses will be offered, based on aptitude and competency of students. The vision of the school was to nurture future business leaders and entrepreneurs in various sectors of the economy, government and non-profit organisations with the focus on value creation and responsibility towards all stakeholders for a sustainable society based on human values, ethics, science and Indian culture. The engineering programme of the college is being offered in affiliation with Anna University. The programme will focus on industrial sector specialisation, in addition to the functional specialisation. Each ndustry has different characteristics that need different kinds of skills set. For example, the knowledge inputs needed for telecom will be different from that of general management inputs given in various courses. The MBA programme being offered by the school is indigenously developed with inputs from the industry and academics and it has a strong element of technology management based on its successful graduate course in engineering. The school lays special emphasis on the practical orientation to its MBA programme and encourages live projects to involve the students with the industry during their course of study. |
