The MET Institute of Management in Mumbai is amongst the fastest growing B-schools in India. The contributions of MET towards education and society at large have been appreciated at many forums. And when the United Nations handpicked MET students to implement a project, it was an international pat on the back! Over the years, eight successive batches of MET students have pursued their internships at the United Nations headquarters. Recently MET made a significant contribution to society, through its publications Mumbai Vision 2015: Agenda for Urban Renewal and Vidya Setup 150 Social Outreach Missions (academia-society partnership). At MET, students are treated as managers under training. Training is imparted round the- clock, seven days a week. Projects and assignments are given utmost importance and students learn on the job. Application-oriented knowledge, garnered in the lecture halls, is applied to industry assignments. The faculty spares no effort to make the students razorsharp, so that they can make their mark in the corporate world. MET won the first prize in an all-India case study competition titled ACUMEN 2006 pitted against IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Kozikode, amongst other leading management institutes ample proof of the quality of students of the institute. The institute's placement performance compares with the best and is consistent. The salary package has been growing, with some students fetching as much as Rs10 lakh (CTC) last year. The focus is on ensuring that the students get placed in companies, where they fit in intellectually and culturally. The campus has adequate infrastructure, including a Wi-Fi facility, air-conditioned classrooms, e-enabled libraries that dock over 20,000 books and 300 periodicals, fully loaded information and technology centres and conference rooms (equipped with audio-visual facilities and learning aids to create a quasi-corporate ambience). It also has a high-tech convention centre for seminars and management. |
