Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) Bhubaneshwar the little over one year old B-school has already demonstrated some of the pertinent ways in which professionals could find the right answer to the prevailing constraints in providing quality management education. The school has demonstrated its ability through its highly successful track-record of setting up for the first time a business school in 180 days benchmarked against those of the IIMs. The aim of the school was to be the first private sector school matching IIMs in its quality standards. Having achieved its aim in such a short period, the school went on to carve a niche for itself as a sectoral management school by floating a series of courses with corporate participation in the areas of retail management, supply chain and logistics, banking sector. The school also introduced for the first time a full backward integration of its post graduate courses right from plus two commerce stage. The plus 2 commerce, the BBA and the MBA programmes seamlessly meshed with each other to produce a cohesive talent pool for the industry from the school. The school has also taken the next step of branching out to other cities by establishing its first off campus programme in retail management with Retailers Association of India (RAI) at Hyderabad. The retail campus is expected to come up in the coming academic year. The corporate tie-ups are with Pantaloon India, GATI of Hyderabad, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and KKCL Mumbai. ASBM has experiments and provided a new benchmark against the best in the country. |
