RIL's Mukesh Ambani keeps annual salary unchanged at Rs 15 crore
MUMBAI: Billionaire Mukesh Ambani has left his salary unchanged at Rs 15 crore for the ninth consecutive year, while remuneration of most other whole-time directors of the company has increased.
Ambani, who is the richest Indian, will still take home a hefty dividend payment for his shareholding in the energy conglomerate.
“The chairman and managing director’s compensation has been set at Rs 15 crore as against Rs 38.75 crore as approved, reflecting his desire to continue to set a personal example for moderation in managerial compensation levels,” the company said in its Annual Report for 2016-17.
The remuneration of executive director PMS Prasad increased marginally to Rs 7.87 crore in FY17 from Rs 7.23 crore a year ago. He has Rs 45.85 crore in stick options.
RIL's Executive Director Nikhil Meswani received remuneration of Rs 16.58 crore in the year ended March as against Rs 14.42 crore in the previous year. Executive Director Hital Meswani's remuneration for FY17 rose to Rs 16.58 crore from Rs 14.41 crore. Both of them have additional Rs 64.18 crore in stock options.
Another Executive Director Pawan Kumar received a slightly lower remuneration of Rs 2.54 crore in FY17 as against Rs 2.94 crore in FY16. He has stock options worth Rs 1 crore, the company said.
