Bajaj Auto sales down 18% in January
Bajaj Auto sales were down 18% in January, the two-wheeler maker said in a statement to the BSE on Thursday.
Its motorcycle sales fell 16% while the sales of its commercial vehicles fell 27%. The total domestic sales were down 16%. Exports were also down.
In the month of January, Bajaj Auto sold 119,803 lakh motorcycles, 15% lower than the 140,853 vehicles sold in the same period last year.
The company exported 92,021 motorcycles, down 18% from the 112,135 sold in the same period last year.
It sold 15,385 commercial vehicles, down 27% from January 2016 and exported 14,708 vehicles, down 26%.
The combined domestic sales stood at 135,188 units, down 16% and exports were at 106,729 units, down 19%.
Bajaj Auto sold 241,917 vehicles in January 2017, down 18% from the 293,939 units sold in the same period last year.
