Bajaj’s 400 cc bike rolled out by all-women engineers’ assembly
Bajaj Auto rolled out the first batch of their much awaited super premium 400 cc bike from the Chakan plant on Friday. The first batch of these powerful bikes were rolled out by an all-women engineer assembly line. The motorcycle is slated for a mid-December 2016 launch.
What makes the roll-out even more special is the fact that the assembly line, which has produced these powerful bikes is fully managed by women engineers. “This is a milestone event for Bajaj Auto as a manufacturer embracing the best technology as well an organisation committed to gender diversity,” the company said.
The new bike model, which is scheduled to be launched around mid-December 2016, is also expected to dominate Indian roads in this segment for the coming decade, Eric Vas, president, (motorcycle business), Bajaj Auto said.
“Our new bike will set new benchmarks in its segment. There is already a lot of buzz, anticipation and excitement about the bike and its features, price and name. However, bike enthusiasts will have to wait for some time, till we share details of the new offering during the launch next month,” he said.
The company said this bikes comes 15 years after their iconic Pulsar brand which went on to define the sports motorcycle market in India. Pulsar continues to be a market leader in the sports segment for 15 years.
