TVS Motor two-wheeler sales up 30.1% in September 2016
TVS Motor reported 30.1 per cent growth in two wheeler sales, an increase from 220,971 units recorded in September 2015 to 287,449 units in September 2016.
Domestic two wheeler sales grew by 33.6 per cent, increasing from 190,063 units in September 2015 to 253,974 units in September 2016.
Scooter sales grew by 12.7 per cent from 75,307 units in the month of September 2015 to 84,850 units in September 2016. Motorcycle sales grew by 35.9 per cent, increasing from 90,393 units in the month of September 2015 to 122,813 units in September 2016.
The company clocked a sales growth of 26 per cent during the month of September 2016, with total sales increasing from 232,744 units recorded in the month of September 2015 to 293,257 units in the month of September 2016. Due to supply chain disruptions, the company lost production of 25,000 units.
The company's total exports registered sales of 38,164 units in the month of September 2016, as against 41,435 units in September 2015. Two wheeler exports grew by 8.3 per cent, increasing from 30,908 units in September 2015 to 33,475 units in September 2016.
Three wheelers of the company registered sales of 5,808 units in September 2016, as against 11,773 units in September 2015.
During the second quarter of the current financial year, two wheeler sales grew by 23.1 per cent, increasing from 6.46 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year to 7.95 lakh units in the second quarter of the current year.
Three wheeler sales of the company was 0.20 lakh units in the second quarter of the current year, as against 0.33 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year.
