Jammu & Kashmir: Two days after terror attack, Pakistani troops violate ceasefire along LoC in Uri sector

Two days after the attack at the army headquarters in Uri of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops on Tuesday violated cease fire along the Line of Control, PTI reported.

On Sunday, 18 jawans were killed and 19 injured in the terror strike a battalion headquarters of the Army, in which four ultras were neutralised.

The attack comes amid reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the green signal to diplomatically isolate Pakistan at every international grouping.

After the attack, the army said that it reserved the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing even as various options were discussed in a flurry of high-level meetings.

On Monday, Pakistan accused India of misleading the world opinion to cover up its "reign of terror" in Kashmir by a spate of "vitriolic" and "unsubstantiated" statements following the terror attack in Uri.

India and Pakistan are witnessing growing bitterness after Pakistan and its Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made provocative statements on the Kashmir situation in the wake of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani's killing on July 8.
