Mahindra XUV500 1.99-litre gets an automatic variant
NEW DELHI: Mahindra has introduced its 1.99-litre motor with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The same engine was launched earlier this year to get around the diesel ban in the NCR (National Capital Region). The homegrown manufacturer introduced the motor with the manual transmission only in the XUV500 and the Scorpio. However, the automatic transmission is not introduced in the Scorpio, but it too is expected to feature the gearbox in the near future.
Speaking of the XU500, Mahindra hasn't made any official statement regarding the AT trim but its web portal has been updated with details of the auto box version. The popular SUV is available with three automatic variants namely -- the W6, W8, and W10 at Rs 14.51 lakh, Rs 15.94 lakh and Rs 17.32 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).
