Ashok Leyland sales up 31% in March
Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland Ltd has registered 31% growth in total sales at 16,702 units during March, 2016 as against 12,754 units the same month of 2015. The share price of the company has seen a 52 week high of Rs 110.9 on Friday, when the monthly and annual sales figures are announced.
The company today announced the sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) reported a growth of 32% at 13,240 units in March, this year compared to 10,027 units during March, last year. The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales has experienced an increase of 27%, to 3,462 units during March, 2016, from 2,727 units in March, 2015.
The company has reported a 34% growth in sales during the financial year 2015-16, at 1,40,457 units as against 1,04,902 units sold during the previous fiscal year.
The sales of M&HCV has increased to 1,09,762 units during the period between April, 2015 to March 2015, with a growth of 41.3% as compared to 77,660 units during the same period of previous fiscal. Sales of LCV has grown 12.7%, to 30,695 units in 2015-16 as against 27,242 units during the corresponding period of previous fiscal year.
