Earthquake in Delhi: Massive 7.2 magnitude quake hits Tajikistan; tremors felt in North India, Pakistan

Earthquake in Delhi: A strong quake measuring 7.2 magnitude struck in Tajikistan on Monday, shaking buildings as far away as New Delhi and in Pakistan, the US Geological Survey and witnesses said.

The epicentre of the quake was 111 km (65 miles) southwest of Karakul, the USGS said.

According to ANI, Mild tremors were also felt in Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir).

“Earthquake felt in New Delhi, buildings shake – witnesses,” poster Reuters on Twitter immediately after tremors were felt in Noida.

“Strong 7.2 magnitude quake strikes in Tajikistan – USGS,” tweeted ANI.

“Epicentre was Tajikistan, magnitude 7.0 on richter scale. Was felt in many regions of North India: Operations Head, Centre For Seismology,” said ANI on Twitter.
