RBI governor Rajan meets FM Jaitley ahead of August monetary policy review

RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan today called on Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and is believed to have discussed various issues including current macroeconomic situation.
Rajan''s meeting with the Finance Minister comes ahead of the bi-monthly monetary policy to be announced on August 4.
There is pressure on RBI to cut rate to boost economic growth.
However, RBI has said it would watch out for the data, including inflation, and the monsoon progress before any change in its policy rates.

Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab, resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday after months of tension with the party leadership. He stated that his own party had tried to silence him.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) plans to scale up its annual investments in India to $10 billion by 2030, eyeing bets in sectors such as renewable energy, urban infrastructure and financial services, a senior executive said.
Annual investments in India by IFC, the private-sector arm of the World Bank Group, have risen to about $5.4 billion in 2024/2025 from about $1.3 billion in financial year 2021/2022, Imad Fakhoury, its South Asia regional director, told Reuters.

American electric carmaker Tesla on Friday said it will expand its charging network, including superchargers, across major hubs in India as it looks to accelerate its journey in the country.
The company, which made its much-awaited entry into India, launching its Model Y, had on Wednesday launched its second model, a three-row six seater SUV Model YL priced at ₹61.99 lakh and is simultaneously intensifying charging network expansion to address range anxiety of customers.
