L&T to build energy infra for world's largest green hydrogen plant at NEOM

L&T Construction will create renewable energy infrastructure for the world’s largest green hydrogen plant at NEOM, the company said in a BSE filing.
L&T will engineer, procure, and construct a 2.2 GWac PV solar plant, 1.65 GW wind generation balance of plant and a 400 MWh battery energy storage system at Oxagon in Saudi Arabia’s region of NEOM.
NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is an equal joint-venture by ACWA Power, Air Products and NEOM.
It will also construct three 380 kV switching stations, 306 kilometres of 380 kV overhead lines and UG cables required for the Kingdom’s grid network. The scope also includes the Energy Power Monitoring System (EPMS) for the complete network.
The value of the packages awarded to L&T aggregate to $2.779 billion.
Chairman designate and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro, S N Subrahmanyan said, "Such initiatives at scale have the potential to speed up global energy transition. NGHC is setting up a mega plant to produce green hydrogen at-scale for global export in the form of green ammonia with a total investment of $8.4 billion. Supported by 23 local, regional, and international banking and financial institutions, the project has now achieved full financial close and construction is moving forward.
A few quarters back, L&T received the nod to establish the renewable energy generation, storage and grid infrastructure, from Air Products, the system-integrating EPC contractor and exclusive off-taker of green ammonia to be produced from the project.

The Ministry of Heavy Electricals (MHI) announced on Tuesday that seven bids had been received under a global tender for the rebidding of Production Linked Incentives (PLI) aimed at supporting the manufacturing of Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries, specifically 10 GigaWatt hours (GWh) Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC).
The bidders, comprising ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited, Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited, Anvi Power Industries Private Limited, JSW Neo Energy Limited, Reliance Industries Limited, Lucas TVS Limited.

Air India has entered into a codeshare partnership with Japan's All Nippon Airways.
With the codeshare, effective for travel from May 23, Air India and All Nippon Airways passengers can fly to their desired destination by combining those flights between India and Japan with a single ticket.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday staged a dharna here protesting against the delay in release of drought relief funds by the Centre and criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the issue.
Siddaramaiah said the protest -- held in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the premises of Vidhana Soudha which houses the Legislature and State Secretariat -- was aimed at drawing public attention towards the "injustice" done to Karnataka and its people by the BJP-led government at the Centre.

Fintech major Razorpay, in partnership with Airtel Payments Bank, has ventured into UPI infrastructure service by offering UPI Switch to its customers.
The solution can handle up to 10,000 transactions per second (TPS), and enables five times faster access to Unified Payments Interface (UPI) innovations for businesses, the company said.
