J&K: Top Jaish commander Sajad Afghani among 2 terrorists killed in Shopian encounter

Top Jaish-e-Muhammad commander Sajad Afghani is among two terrorists killed in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Rawalpora area of district Shopian of South Kashmir, claimed police.
IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, confirmed that "Top Jaish terror outfit commander killed in Shopian encounter." He added that Sajad Afghani, the JeM commander is among the two terrorists killed in Shopian encounter."
A search operation in the area was launched on Friday and the encounter started on Saturday evening. Earlier, one militant was killed on Sunday in the encounter.
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, internet services is still suspended in the area.
Police said during the search operation, as the presence of terrorists got ascertained they were given the opportunity to surrender, however, they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party, which retaliated leading to an encounter.
Arms and ammunition, including US-made M4 Carbine rifle and other incriminating materials were recovered from the site of the encounter.
