Audi announces top management changes for India

Audi AG has announced that Rahil Ansari, head for India operations, is relocating to the Volkswagen-owned carmaker’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. Balbir Singh Dhillon, who currently heads the dealer development for the company, will replace Ansari. The top-level management change will be effective from 1 September 2019.

Meanwhile, Ansari is slated to take up the role of senior director, Central Sales Controlling (Global). The company said he was heading India operations since February 2017, which notably was his third stint with Audi India.

Commenting on the management change, Michael Frisch, vice president region overseas at Audi AG said, “Work done by Ansari will provide the basis for a sustainable business and profitable network in India with new digital customer centric activities."

On Dhillon’s appointment, Firsch added, “he has been a part of the Audi team in India and Middle-East. He brings with him sound knowledge of the brand, the luxury (car) segment and automotive sector spanning 23 years of experience, which bodes well for us." In his current role, Dhillon overlooks network profitability and business planning. Besides Audi, he has also worked with Porsche and Honda in India.
