TVS Graphite 125 launching tomorrow in India: What to expect from TVS’ flagship scooter
TVS Motor Company will launch its all-new 125cc scooter in India tomorrow. The scooter is rumoured to come as the production version of Graphite that was showcased for the first time as a concept model at Auto Expo 2014. The new TVS Graphite 125, as the name suggests, gets its power from a 125cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to an automatic transmission system. The exact power and torque figures are unavailable at the moment. The new TVS Graphite 125 will come with sporty LED tail lamp as seen in the teaser video. The scooter will also be equipped with a disc brake up front that will likely be offered as an optional equipment. The concept model that was showcased at Auto Expo 2014 showed that the scooter will come equipped with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and if that happens, the scooter will be the first in India in the mass segment to offer the said safety equipment.
As seen in the spy images, the turning winkers of the new TVS Graphite are situated on the headlamp cowl at the upper portion while the central headlamp is located on the apron. The suspension system of the new TVS scooter comprises of conventional telescopic forks up front along with gas-charged shock absorbers likely to come at the rear.
The new TVS Graphite 125 will come with some interesting features such as a fully digital instrument cluster and smartphone connectivity is also expected
The new TVS Graphite 125 is expected to be launched in India at a price of close to Rs 60,000 (ex-showroom). The scooter challenges the likes of Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Grazia in the Indian two-wheeler market. More details to be revealed tomorrow. If the manufacturer manages to price the scooter well, it can have an edge over its competition.
