PM Modi inaugurates power projects in J&K

LEH(Jammu & Kashmir): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated two hydroelectric power projects in the Ladakh region and praised the people of the region for extending support to him.
Centre will extend all possible help for the development of Leh and Ladakh region, Modi said addressing a gathering in Leh.
Leh is at the focus of government's solar energy initiative, Modi said.
The Prime Minister said he will fulfil former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee's dream of connectivity to J&K.
Earlier, addressing troops, Modi lauded the Army personnel for their service to the nation and promised to build a national war memorial.
He said there will be no compromise on Siachen.
The Prime Minister is on a day-long visit to the Ladakh region of Jammu & Kashmir.
Modi was received at the Leh airport by state governor NN Vohra, chief minister Omar Abdullah, Ladakh parliamentarian Nawan Rigzin Jora, Chief of Indian Army Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag and senior civil, police and military officials.
The prime minister is accompanied by Union power minister Piyush Goyal and national security adviser Ajeet Doval.
