2017 Ford EcoSport’s clear images emerge for the first time, to launch by year end
Ford India is all set to launch the EcoSport facelift by the end of this year and for the first time, the compact SUV has been spied without any camouflage by Team-BHP. Clear images of the new EcoSport confirms major updates at the front such as a redesigned bumper and hexagonal grille with chrome accents and silver scuff plate at the bottom of the bumper. The vehicle will get projector headlamps with LED DRL's, roof rails and 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the EcoSport facelift will get minor changes, however, it will continue to carry tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Inside the cabin, 2017 EcoSport will get an 8 inch- touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC 3 software compatible with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Also, it will get steering mounted controls, a new instrument console and voice recognition.
Under the hood, the facelift EcoSport will carry forward the same set of engine options available in the current version. The three engine options would include a 1.5-litre diesel unit, a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol motor. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox with paddle shifters could be offered on higher trims.
The 2017 EcoSport will get a host of safety features such ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual front airbags will be standard across all variants. It is also expected the higher trims of the car might get 6 airbags, reverse parking camera with sensors, Emergency Assist, rear defogger and speed sensing auto door locks.
The 2017 EcoSport will be priced higher than the current generation EcoSport and will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Honda WR-V.
