During the first phase of West Bengal assembly elections, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate for the Salboni constituency, Sushanta Ghosh, was attacked by unknown miscreants.

Ghosh was attacked at Salboni by unidentified men before being escorted away by security.

Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for novel coronavirus as he took to Twitter to inform about the same. Tendulkar said that after experiencing mild symptoms, he tested positive while all others in his family tested negative.
