Two people have been killed after multiple gunmen opened fire across central Vienna on Monday, and at least one attacker remained on the run after what Chancellor Sebastian Kurz described as a repulsive terrorist attack.

Interior Minister Karl Nehammer warned people to stay away from the centre of the city, adding that border checks were being reinforced and that children would not be required to attend school on Tuesday.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for an attack on Kabul University on Monday that killed 22 people including students, the jihadist group's Amaq News Agency said.

Amaq said the gunmen targeted a gathering being held to mark the completion of a training course at the university.

It had posted a net profit of Rs 654.9 crore in the July-September 2019 (Q2FY20).
