The Delhi government on Monday banned the sale, storage, transportation, and marketing of soaps and detergents not conforming to the latest BIS parameters to curb pollution in the Yamuna river.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) had in January accepted recommendations of the Yamuna Monitoring Committee (YMC) which had suggested directing the Delhi government to issue orders prohibiting sale, storage and transportation and marketing of detergents which do not conform to the revised BIS standards.

Andhra Pradesh has so far reported 2,303 cases of black fungus or mucormycosis, while 157 people have died due to the disease, said the State Medical and Health Principal Secretary Anil Kumar Singhal on Monday.

Addressing the media here, Singhal said, As many as 2,303 black fungus cases have been reported to date in Andhra, out of which 1,328 cases are active cases. So far 157 have died of black fungus. Amphotericin injection and Posaconazole tablets are adequately available all over the state.

Centre issues new guidelines to regulate attendance in govt offices

Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on Monday directed all officers at the level of Under Secretary and above to attend offices on all working days from June 16 until June 30 while persons with disabilities and pregnant women employees would continue to work from home.

As regards government officials of the level below Under Secretaries, 50 per cent of such officials shall attend office on all working days and the remaining shall work from home, said the order issued to all central government ministries/departments, a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Traning mandated.

India saw a single day rise of 60,471 new coronavirus infections, the lowest after 75 days, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,95,70,881, while the daily positivity rate declined to 3.45 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday.

Coal India Ltd final dividend to enrich govt by Rs 1,426 crore

The government will receive Rs 1,426 crore as dividend from Coal India Limited (CIL) after the dry fuel miner on Monday announced an additional final dividend of 35 per cent or Rs 3.5 per share on equity shares of Rs 10 each, an official said.

The total dividend payout for FY'21 stood at Rs 16 per share or 160 per cent.
