The extradition of Tahawwur Rana, convicted in connection with the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, to India., has been approved by the US Supreme Court.

Pakistani-origin businessman Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who was convicted for his role in the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai that resulted in the death of 164 people, could now be extradited to India. Rana's co-conspirators included, among others, David Headley.

Drug firm Lupin on Friday said it has received approval from the US health regulator to market a generic HIV medication in the US market.

The company has received tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) under the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) for Abacavir, Dolutegravir and Lamivudine tablets, the Mumbai-base drug maker said in a statement.

An explosion took place on Friday (January 24) morning at an ordnance factory in Maharashtra's Bhandara district. At least, eight people were killed in a blast at the ordnance factory, police said. There were 14 employees working in the section at the time of the blast, of whom three were rescued alive and one was dead, added the police.

Rescue and medical teams have been dispatched to the site to search for survivors, a defence spokesperson confirmed to PTI.

Zee Entertainment on Thursday reported a 179.7 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 163.6 crore for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (FY25). During the same period last year the company had reported a net profit of Rs 58.5 crore. Sequentially, however, the company reported a 21.9 per cent drop in profit after tax from Rs 209.4 crore in the last quarter.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra government to invest Rs 3.05 trillion in the state across key sectors such as new energy, retail, hospitality, and high-tech manufacturing. This investment is expected to generate three lakh jobs in the state.

An Indian appeals tribunal on Thursday temporarily suspended the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) five-year data-sharing ban between WhatsApp and its parent company Meta Platforms, affecting its other applications like Facebook and Instagram, particularly for advertising purposes, news agency Reuters reported.

Meta is challenging the CCI's November 2024 directive, which prohibits WhatsApp from sharing user data with its other entities for targeted advertising, arguing that the ban would adversely affect its operations in India.
