India's Covid tally rose to 3,44,47,536 with 10,229 more people testing positive for coronavirus, while the active cases have declined to 1,34,096, the lowest in 523 days, according to the Union Health Ministry's data updated on Monday.

The death toll reached 4,63,655 after 125 new fatalities were reported, the data updated at 8 am showed.

SJS Enterprises (SJS) made a listless stock market debut, with the shares getting listed at Rs 540, a 0.37 per cent discount over its issue price of Rs 542 per share on the BSE. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the stock opened at par of Rs 542 per share.

Post listing, the stock hit an intra-day low of Rs 515.10, 5 per cent below its issue price. On the flipside, it hit a high of Rs 550 in intra-day trade on the BSE. On the NSE, the stock hit a high of Rs 549 and a low of Rs 515.

Sigachi Industries (SIL) made a stellar stock market debut - its shares got listed at Rs 575, a 253 per cent premium over its issue price of Rs 163 per share on the BSE. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the stock opened at Rs 570, a 250 per cent higher against its issue price.

At 10:09 am; the stock was locked at the maximum 5 per cent upper circuit at Rs 603.75, a 270 per cent gain over its issue price. While, on the NSE, the stock was frozen at Rs 598.50, a 267 per cent higher against its issue price.

PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar, made a good stock market debut, with shares listed at Rs 1,150, a 17 per cent premium over its issue price of Rs 980 per share on the BSE. Post listing, the stock moved higher to Rs 1,194.95, a 22 per cent premium to its issue price.

At 10:02 am; PB Fintech was trading at Rs 1,185, up 3 per cent from its opening level on the BSE. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.40 per cent at 60,928. Around 468,000 equity shares changed hands at the counter on the NSE and BSE.

The company registered a gain of Rs 357 crore from the sale of its shares in the Zomato initial public offering.

The company reported profit before tax (before exceptional items) of Rs 139.2 crore for the quarter ended September, compared to Rs 65.4 crore in the year-ago period.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asked the Central government to further cut excise duty on petrol and diesel.

Speaking to the media, the chief minister said, "We demand the Central government to further cut petrol and diesel prices."

"If the Centre reduces fuel prices, then, it will be reduced in the states too," Gehlot said.

Amid the rising levels of pollution in Delhi, stubble burning continues in various parts of Amritsar, with farmers alleging that the government has done nothing in regards to providing machinery and compensation for controlling the burning of stubble.

Gopi, a farmer said while talking to ANI, "We are helpless. The government has not provided us with compensation of Rs 7,000 and machinery needed to control stubble burning. If we would not burn the stubble, our next crop will be late.

The global coronavirus caseload has topped 253.2 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.10 million and vaccinations soared to over 7.46 billion, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

In its latest update on Monday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload, death toll and the total number number of vaccine doses administered stood at 253,291,318, 5,100,151 and 7,464,233,665, respectively.
