The air quality in various parts of the national capital continues to remain in the 'severe category', informed the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) on Monday.

As per SAFAR's analysis, an overall air quality index (AQI) of 432 was reported in the national capital today morning.

In the last 24 hours, India registered 11,451 new Covid-19 cases and 266 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.

The new fatalities increased the nationwide death toll to 4,61,057.

The recovery of 13,204 patients in the same time period has increased the cumulative tally to 3,37,63,104. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.24 per cent, the highest since March 2020.

The global coronavirus caseload has topped 250 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.04 million and vaccinations soared to over 7.24 billion, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

In its latest update on Sunday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload, death toll and the total number number of vaccine doses administered stood at 250,610,452, 5,048,865 and 7,246,604,164, respectively.

Shares of Divi's Laboratories slipped 9 per cent to Rs 4,751 on the BSE in Monday's intra-day trade as the company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (ebitda) margin contracted by 180 basis points year-on-year (YoY) to 41.5 per cent in September quarter (Q2FY22) due to higher other expenses/employee costs.

In Delhi, the rate of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 51,560, while in Mumbai the yellow metal is trading at Rs 47,220. The price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai today is Rs 47,260 and Rs 46,220, respectively.

Shares of IndusInd Bank slumped 10 per cent to Rs 1,069.90 on the BSE in Monday's opening trade despite the bank management strongly refuting allegations around the evergreening of loans, citing media reports as inaccurate and baseless.

With today's decline, the stock has slipped nearly 14 per cent from its 52-week high of Rs 1,242 on October 28, 2021. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.22 per cent at 59,935 points at 09:30 am.
