PM Modi to visit Hyderabad today to inaugurate 'Statue of Equality'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Hyderabad on Friday to inaugurate the 216-feet tall 'Statue of Equality' commemorating the 11th-century Bhakti Saint Sri Ramanujacharya.

At around 5 PM, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the 'Statue of Equality' in Hyderabad.

Vaccine effectiveness of 99.3% seen in fully vaccinated: Mandaviya

Vaccine effectiveness of 99.3 per cent has been seen in individuals fully inoculated against Covid as per the data uploaded on India Covid-19 Tracker till January 2, the Parliament was told on Friday.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has developed the India Covid-19 Vaccine Tracker, by merging mainly three national databases -- CoWIN, National Covid-19 Testing database and Covid-19 India portal, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

Covid primary cause in 23.5% deaths reported in Delhi from Jan 13 to Feb 3

Of the 693 fatalities recorded in Delhi between January 13 and February 3, COVID-19 was the primary cause of death in only 23.5 per cent of the cases, according to official data.

In 530 cases, the COVID-19 finding was incidental while in nine cases, the virus was detected among trauma patients.

Mahindra sets record for monthly vehicle sales in South Africa

Mahindra South Africa has set a new record for monthly sales since it first started selling its range of automotive vehicles in the country 18 years ago.

Figures released by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA) showed that Mahindra hit a new all-time best sales figure of 1,010 in January 2022. This is a massive 77% improvement over the same month in 2021 and comes despite severe stock shortages and other COVID-19-related disruptions.

IIT Hyderabad to set up Suzuki Innovation Centre on its campus

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) and Suzuki Motor Corporation signed a three-year contract to start Suzuki Innovation Centre (SIC) with the vision of "creating innovations for India and Japan" by way of providing a platform for exchange of knowledge between the two organizations.

A press release from IIT Hyderabad said the SIC will be operated as a platform for open innovation among Industries, Academia, and Startups and the Centre will also support skill development and exchange of human resources between India and Japan.

Adani Green Energy arms raise Rs 612 cr for debt refinancing

Three arms of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) have collectively raised Rs 612.30 crore through their maiden domestic bond issue on private placement basis for debt refinancing.

According to a company statement, rated, listed, secured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of face value of Rs 10 lakh each, in multiple series, have an average annualized coupon rate of 7.83 per cent per annum (fixed) and a tenure up to 12 years.

ITC gains 2% on better than expected December quarter results

Shares of ITC gained another 2 per cent at Rs 238.50 on the BSE in Friday’s intra-day trade, extending its past seven-day rally to 11 per cent as the company reported a better-than-expected December quarter results (Q3FY22). The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 265.30 on October 18, 2021.

At 09:39 am; ITC erases its intra-day day gain and was down 0.50 per cent at Rs 233.15, as compared to 0.06 per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. The counter has seen huge trading volumes, with a combined 26.4 million equity shares changing hands on the NSE and BSE.
