Paytm Insuretech -- an associate company of One97 Communications -- and Prism Johnson Ltd, who had entered into an agreement, wherein the former would have bought 51 per cent stake of the latter in Raheja QBE General Insurance, have decided to terminate the agreement as the share sale and purchase transaction was not consummated within the time period envisaged by the parties under the agreement.

Shares of Bandhan Bank surged 8 per cent to Rs 342.70 on the BSE in Monday’s intra-day trade, on improvement in asset quality in the March quarter (Q4FY22), with gross non-performing asset (NPA) and net NPA ratios declining 435 bps and 135 bps to 6.46 per cent and 3.01 per cent, respectively, on a quarter on quarter (QoQ) basis.
At 11:29 am; the stock of the private sector lender was trading 6 per cent higher at Rs 336.90, as compared to a 0.72 per cent rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. It had hit a 52-week high of Rs 354.10 on June 28, 2021.

Shares of Avenue Supermarts, which runs the D-Mart chain of stores, gained 8 per cent to Rs 3,499 on the BSE in Monday’s intra-day trade. The surge comes after the company reported 18.5 per cent year on year (YoY) jumped in its standalone revenue at Rs 8,606 crore in March quarter (Q4FY22). The revenue growth was is in-line with the management's guidance in its prequarterly update.
Besides that, the company's profit after tax (PAT) grew 7.2 per cent YoY at Rs 466 crore, whereas, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) margins remained flattish YoY at 8.4 per cent.

Residents of Madhya Pradesh are likely to get a respite from the severe hot weather this week as the temperature has started going down and the mercury is expected to dip further over the next few days, a MeT official said on Monday.
On Saturday, Nowgaon and Khajuraho in Chhatarpur district sizzled at 48 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature at both the places slightly dipped to 47 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un rebuked officials for failing to deliver medicine to its people in time amid the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak and ordered the mobilisation of military personnel to stabilise the supply of medicine in Pyongyang, state media said on Monday.
The political bureau of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea convened an emergency consultative meeting again to discuss measures for Covid control on Sunday, according to the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

With 2,202 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,31,23,801 while the active cases dipped to 17,317, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death toll climbed to 5,24,241 with 27 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

Shares of Amber Enterprises tanked 18 per cent to Rs 2,780 on the BSE in Monday’s intra-day trade in an otherwise firm market after the company reported a weak operational performance. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) margins were down 240 bps to 6.5 per cent, due to delay in passing of higher raw material prices along with sharp increase in employee cost.

Shares of Ambuja Cement and ACC rallied up to 6 per cent on the BSE in Monday’s intra-day trade after the Adani Group announced the acquisition of Swiss cement major Holcim's stake in all its Indian operating entities for $10.5 billion (around Rs 81,361 crore), including the open offers.
The Adani family, through an offshore special-purpose vehicle, said that it has entered into definitive agreements for the acquisition of Holcim Ltd’s entire stake in two of India’s leading cement companies -- Ambuja Cements and ACC.

A natural history museum is coming up in Uttar Pradesh on the Lucknow Zoo campus and is expected to be ready by March 2023.
The museum will offer information on birds and animals that existed millions of years ago and species that are extinct or endangered.
The museum will be the first-of-its-kind in Uttar Pradesh and will have nearly 6,000 specimens of animals and birds collected by experts over the past 200 years from different places across the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the construction of a unique centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage within the Lumbini Monastic Zone during his official visit to Nepal's Lumbini on Monday on the occasion of Vaishakha Buddha Purnima, informed the Ministry of Culture.
At Lumbini, the Prime Minister will visit the sacred Mayadevi temple to offer prayers. Prime Minister will also deliver an address at a Buddha Jayanti event organized by the Lumbini Development Trust under the aegis of the Government of Nepal, said the ministry in its press release.
