The 2022 edition of the Asia Cup, which was scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka, has been shifted to the UAE, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed, here on Thursday.
"Asia Cup will be in UAE, as it is the only place where there won't be rain," Ganguly said after the Board's Apex Council meeting.

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja group and the second largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Capital to enter into a strategic financing partnership for its range of light commercial vehicles.

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) on Thursday inaugurated a new spray dried detergent factory in Sumerpur town of Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district and is planning to invest a total of Rs 700 crore in the unit by 2025.
CEO Sanjiv Mehta and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath virtually unveiled the spray dried detergent factory and co-located distribution centre, which will manufacture products for HUL brand, including Surf Excel, India’s largest laundry brand.

Shares of Gland Pharma hit a 52-week low of Rs 2,232 as they slipped 10 per cent on the BSE in Thursday's intra-day trade. The company reported 35 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 229 crore in June quarter (Q1FY23), due to lower operational income. The pharmaceutical company's PAT stood at Rs 351 crore in Q1FY22. On a sequential basis, PAT was down 20 per cent from Rs 286 crore in Q4FY22.
The stock has fallen below its previous low of Rs 2,421.30, touched on July 14, 2022. In the past three months, it has tanked 31 per cent as compared to 3 per cent decline in the S&P BSE Sensex.

The counting of votes to elect the 15th President of India will begin at 11 am on Thursday at the Parliament House here.
The counting will take place in Room No 63 in Parliament House and the result will be declared immediately after the counting. The immediate precincts of Room Number 63 have been declared as sanitised and "silent zone".

As many as 448 notices were served to e-Commerce entities for violations of the declaration during the last one year and nine months and approx Rs 78 lakh penalty was charged from companies as compounding fees for violation of the declaration, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution informed on Wednesday.
The Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Wednesday informed that the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011 under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 provides that an E-Commerce entity shall ensure that name and address of the manufacturer or packer or importer.

Netflix Inc. may have calmed investors’ worst fears with a second-quarter subscriber loss that was better than expected, but a closer look at the streaming giant’s results indicate it still faces significant hurdles.
Wall Street cheered Tuesday’s subscriber numbers, which were only half as bad as the company forecast. Netflix also projected a return to subscriber growth in the current quarter. The shares rose 7.4 per cent on Wednesday and the positive sentiment lifted other media stocks, including Walt Disney Co and Paramount Global.

UPSC recommended 4,119 candidates for different central government jobs during 2021-22, the lowest in 10 years, according to a Personnel Ministry data made public in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
"Every year, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts its examinations as per the programme of examinations (calendar) year notified by the Commission well in advance for a calendar year," Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.
