Gold prices fell Rs 150 on Tuesday, with 10 grams of the yellow metal (24-carat) trading at Rs 57,230. Silver prices fell Rs 500 from yesterday's close to Rs 70,000 per kg.

The price of 22-carat gold fell Rs 100 from yesterday's close to Rs 52,500, according to the GoodReturns website.

The sale of smartphones through online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart overtook sales through offline retailers for the first time in 2022, a report in the Economic Times (ET) said. India's Adani Group has appointed accountancy firm Grant Thornton for independent audits of some of its companies in a bid to discredit claims by short-seller Hindenburg Research that have battered its stocks and bonds, two people familiar with the matter said on Monday.

The appointment marks the first major effort by Adani Group to defend itself in the wake of a Jan. 24 report by Hindenburg that accused it of improper use of offshore tax havens and stock manipulation.

DBS Group has a tightly managed exposure to India's Adani group of companies, the chief executive of Southeast Asia's largest bank said on Monday.
