Atishi, the power minister of Delhi, has warned that nearly 46 lakh people of Delhi won't get electricity subsidy from Monday. She said the government had made provisions for the subsidy in the budget but Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena hasn't cleared the file. He said the people of the city will get inflated bills in the absence of the subsidy, from Monday.
She said she had sought a meeting with Saxena but didn't get a response for her request.

Softbank-backed hospitality firm OYO is planning to add over 100 hotels in the US in 2023. This is nearly double the number of hotels it added to its portfolio in 2022.
“Over the years, it (the US) has become one of @oyorooms most promising international markets…To cater to this growing demand, we plan to add over 100 hotels this year across the states of Oregon, Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and Florida,” Ritesh Agarwal, founder and CEO of OYO Rooms, tweeted.

Apple announced on Thursday that it is committed to using 100 per cent recycled cobalt batteries by 2025. The development comes as a part of the company's ambitious plan to achieve carbon neutrality for all of its products before 2030.
In addition to this, the tech giant declared that it plans to start using recycled rare earth elements for magnets used in its devices, according to a report in Mint. Moreover, its in-house team designed printed circuit boards that will utilise recycled tin soldering and gold plating.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has said that it does not have the information on those who subscribed to the Rs 20,000-crore follow-on public offering (FPO) of Adani Enterprises (AEL).
The market regulator said this in response to an application filed under Right to Information ACT (RTI), which sought investor-wise and amount-wise subscription details and the reason for the cancellation of the FPO.

The Income Tax Department has identified about two dozen 'benami' assets worth Rs 127 crore of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari in Uttar Pradesh and other locations as part of a "comprehensive" action against him and his associates, sources said Wednesday.
The department's Lucknow benami assets investigation unit on Tuesday attached the first benami property in this case, a land parcel located in Ghazipur district worth about Rs 1.29 crore (book value). The market value of this property is about 12 crore, according to an attachment order of the department.

Indian Newspaper Society (INS) on Wednesday said in a statement that it is deeply disturbed by the newly notified Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Amendment Rules, 2023 (IT Amendment Rules, 2023) issued by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology on April 6. It has urged the government to withdraw the notification and hold consultations with stakeholders such as media organisations and press bodies before releasing with any notification having serious implications on media and its credibility.

Anand Rathi Wealth on Wednesday reported a 33 per cent jump in net profits in financial year (FY) 2023 to Rs 169 crore. Revenues surged 31 per cent to Rs 558 crore from Rs 425 crore in the previous FY.
For the quarter-ended March 2023, revenue was up 28 per cent year-on-year to Rs 146 crore. Profit after tax for the quarter rose 23 per cent to Rs 43 crore.
