Noting that Indian economy is still the fastest growing major economy and shall continue to be so in 2023-24, Finance Minister Niramala Sitharaman made a strong attack on Congress in Lok Sabha on Friday on the issue of corruption stating that it the party's culture "to benefit jijas and bhatijas" and the party leaders should "wash faces with dettol".
Replying to the debate in Lok Sabha on the general budget on Friday, the Finance Minister also talked about the new tax regime stating that it will leave higher disposable income in the hands of people.

Air India has sealed a jumbo deal for about 500 new planes worth more than $100 billion at list prices, in what could become the single largest order by any airline as it seeks to reinvent itself under its new owners, industry sources told Reuters.
The deal, split equally between France's Airbus and rival planemaker Boeing, was first reported by Reuters in December and could finally be announced as early as next week, the sources said.

In order to curb the sale of non-ISI certified toys and to ensure implementation of the Toys Quality Control Order, 100 search and seizure operations were carried out in the years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
During the search and seizure operations conducted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a quantity of 9,565 and 30,229 was seized during the years 2021-22 and 2022-23 (up to January 25, 2023), respectively.

Shares of Gautam Adani group companies continued to reel under pressure Adani Green Energy, Adani Transmission and Adani Total Gas hitting their respective 52-week lows on the BSE in Friday’s intra-day trade. Besides these three stocks, Adani Power also traded 5 per cent lower.
At 09:30 am; Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of Adani group, was down 3.5 per cent at 1,859.55. The stock slipped has 10 per cent to Rs 1,734.60 in intra-day trade so far.

Short video app TikTok fired its entire India staff on Monday, a report by The Economic Times (ET) said, quoting sources aware of the matter. Forty people were laid off and were offered severance pay of up to nine months.
"The TikTok India employees were told that February 28 would be their last day and were given feelers to look out for other opportunities for some time as it was conveyed that restarting India operations were not going to take off because of the government's stance on Chinese apps," a source told ET.

Yahoo said on Thursday it plans to lay off more than 20% of its total workforce as part of a major restructuring of its ad tech division.
The cuts will impact nearly 50% of Yahoo's ad tech employees by the end of this year, including nearly 1,000 employees this week, the company said.
Yahoo, which is owned by private equity firm Apollo Global Management since a $5 billion buyout in 2021.

The Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE), Karnataka and Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) inked a MoU on Thursday, to set up 'Industrial Internet of Things Labs' (IoT Innovation Labs) in 35 Government Polytechnics across the State.
The project costs Rs 1.52 crore and also includes setting up of AI labs in at least two institutions.
