Opposition parties in Punjab Monday slammed the ruling AAP's national convener Arvind Kejriwal for comparing party leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain with freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and demanded an unconditional apology from him.

Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring lashed out at Kejriwal for his Sunday comments and said it was for the first time in history that someone had invoked the great martyr's name for corruption.

India's largest biscuits company Parle Products is reportedly in talks with private equity (PE) firm Bridgepoint to buy Polish cookies and biscuits company, dr Gerard. The Polish company is currently valued at Rs 1,000-Rs 1,200 crore, according to the Economic Times (ET).

dr Gerard was bought by Bridgepoint from France's Groupe Poult in 2013 for an undisclosed amount. The company, in 2022, appointed Houlihan Lokey to oversee the sale of dr Gerard.

The central government will reportedly infuse Rs 5,000 crore as equity support into state-run general insurers. This comes days after the centre approved the wage revision plan for employees of general insurers. According to a report in Economic Times (ET), the wage revision is likely to cost Rs 8,000 crore to the companies.

"A fresh assessment may be done by the end of the December quarter and, accordingly, a capital allocation may be made," an official aware of the matter told ET.

Amitabh Banerjee, the chairman and managing director of Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), was divested of his duties after allegations of corruption surfaced last week. There are also concerns of vigilance oversight in his appointment.

Finnish company Nokia on Monday said it has won a multi-year deal from Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio to build one of the largest 5G networks in the world.

Under the contract, Nokia will supply equipment from its AirScale portfolio, including base stations, high-capacity 5G Massive MIMO (multiple input multiple output) antennas, and Remote Radio Heads (RRH) to support different spectrum bands, and self-organising network software.

Zydus Lifesciences on Monday said it has got tentative approval from the US health regulator to market its generic versions of Valbenazine capsules and Roflumilast tablets.
