PTC Industries hits 52-week high, hits 20% upper circuit on healthy outlook

Shares of PTC Industries (PTC) were locked in the upper circuit of 20 per cent, hitting a 52-week high of Rs 3,672.80 on the BSE on Monday at 09:53 am, on healthy outlook. In the past three weeks, the stock has zoomed 56 per cent after the company reported stellar financial results for the quarter ended March 2023 (Q4FY23).

PTC is one of the world's leading suppliers of high-precision metal components for critical and super-critical operations across a wide range of segments including Aerospace, Defence, and Industrial.

BoB receives Rs 10,000 crore via Rs 2,000 note deposits, exchange

Bank of Baroda (BoB) has so far either deposited or exchanged Rs 10,000 crore worth of Rs 2,000 notes, an official told Business standard.

The senior official said that his bank had received around Rs 9,000 crore worth of Rs 2,000 currency notes as deposits, while notes worth Rs 1,000 crore were exchanged through the branch network.

Shares of Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) rose 3 per cent to hit a new high of Rs 3,630 on the BSE in Friday’s intra-day trade after the company said it will consider a stock split. The board of directors of the state-owned defence company will meet on June 27 to mull the proposal of stock split of equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each.

“The meeting of the board of directors of the company is scheduled on Tuesday, the June 27, 2023, to consider, inter-alia, a proposal of sub-division of equity shares of the Company,” HAL said in an exchange filing.

Cyclone Biparjoy is set to intensify in the next 36 hours and will be heading north-northwestwards in the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a tweet on Friday.

The very severe cyclonic storm was located over the east-central Arabian Sea located 840-kilometer west-southwest of Goa and 870 km west-southwest of Mumbai at 11:30 pm on June 8, the IMD said.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is targeting one million users of the central bank-backed digital currency (CBDC) by June-end, deputy governor T Rabi Shankar said on Thursday in a press conference after the monetary policy announcement.

Sankar said the RBI does not have a date in mind on when to go live with CBDC beyond the present pilot project and pointed to the "gradual and calibrated" change which focuses on internalising learnings as the usage grows.

Around 50 per cent of the Rs 2,000 notes in circulation in the economy have been returned to the banking system since the announcement of their withdrawal last month, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference after the announcement of the monetary policy committee, Das said, "As of March 31 this year, Rs 2,000 notes worth Rs 3.62 trillion were in circulation. After the announcement, so far about Rs 1.8 trillion worth of Rs 2,000 notes have come back."
