Mining magnate Anil Agarwal's Vedanta Ltd has won an arbitration against a demand for a higher payout from its prolific Rajasthan oil and gas fields after disallowance of Rs 9,545 crore ($1.16 billion) in certain costs incurred, the company said.
The government has sought additional profit petroleum (or its share from the oil and gas fields) after it reallocated certain costs between the fields in the block and disallowed a portion of the cost incurred on laying a pipeline to evacuate oil produced from the Rajasthan block.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday expanded his cabinet by inducting three BJP MLAs as ministers just months ahead of the state assembly polls to be held by the end of the year.
With this, there are now 34 members in the Chouhan-led cabinet.
State Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath of office as ministers to three legislators at the Raj Bhavan here around 9 am.

Vedanta Ltd will explore options to create independent entities for some or all of its businesses, said Anil Agarwal, chairman of the India-listed company.
It did not disclose further details, including the timeline and structure of the proposal.

Air India will deploy additional cabin crew members on its narrow body aircraft, which are operating on international routes and domestic metro-to-metro routes, to provide better service to passengers, its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Campbell Wilson said on Friday.
"On the cabin crew front, our recruitment and training teams have done a great job in recent months of onboarding new colleagues. Thanks to their efforts, and notwithstanding our ongoing growth, we'll be restoring a full service-based complement of cabin crew on our narrowbody international and domestic metro-to-metro flights from September 1," he told employees in a message that has been reviewed by Business Standard.

Removal of Jio Financial Services (Jio Fin) from the benchmark Nifty50 and the Sensex was deferred by three more days on Friday. The decision was taken by stock exchanges after the firm’s stock hit the lower limit in the preceding two trading sessions.
However, the shares of the financial unit spun off from Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) showed signs of stabilising. Jio Fin ended at Rs 221.6, up 3.8 per cent on the NSE, where Rs 5,848 crore worth of shares changed hands. Another Rs 740.52 crore worth of shares changed hands on the BSE, where the stock ended at Rs 212, down 1.7 per cent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew down to Bengaluru on Saturday directly from the Greek capital of Athens to interact with ISRO scientists on the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission and announced the decision to name the place where lander 'Vikram' touched down on the lunar surface as "Shiva Shakti Point".
Terming the success of Chandrayaan-3 mission as an 'extraordinary moment' in the history of India's India's space programme, he said the place where the Chandrayaan-2 lander crash-landed on the Moon's surface in 2019 would be known as "Tiranga Point".

India's market regulator has completed its probe into whether billionaire Gautam Adani's conglomerate violated securities laws and action has been recommended in some cases for passing orders, it said in a filing to the country's Supreme Court on Friday.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said it has investigated 24 transactions involving the Adani group's listed companies of which 22 are final in nature.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, the debt-laden telecom services provider, jumped 6 per cent to Rs 8.43 apiece on the BSE in Friday's intraday trade, in an otherwise weak market.
Including today's gains, the stock has rallied 11.5 per cent so far this week. By comparison, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex has slipped 0.6 per cent during this period.
At 10:20 AM, the stock the telecom company was up 5.3 per cent as against 0.56 per cent dip in the Sensex index.

Shares of One97 Communications-owned Paytm hit a 18-month high at Rs 939, as they rallied 4 per cent on the BSE in Friday’s intra-day trade after nearly 23 million equity shares of the fintech company changed hands via block deals. Paytm is India's leading mobile payments and financial services distribution company. The stock hit its highest level since February 2022.
At 09:15 AM; around 22.75 million equity shares representing 3.6 per cent of total equity of Paytm changed hands through block deals on the BSE, the exchange data shows. The names of the buyers and sellers were not ascertained immediately.
