Patekar, 63, will be one of the main guests at the World Premiere of director Samruddhi Porey’s ‘Hemalkasa’ on the closing night film of the fifth edition of the festival in London on July 17.

The Oil Ministry is seeking Cabinet nod to allow Reliance Industries to retain three gas discoveries worth $1.45 billion in the eastern offshore KG-D6 block even after expiry of timelines.

RIL has not been able to submit a development plan for D-29, 30 and 31 gas discoveries, which hold an estimated 345 billion cubic feet of reserves, with the prescribed timelines due to dispute with the upstream regulator DGH over tests required to confirm them.

The BCCI is not sitting on “pots of money” as is being made out and it shared revenues with players and state associations for promoting the sport, new ICC Chairman N Srinivasan said on Tuesday.

“BCCI is often much misunderstood. You really do not hear what BCCI has done. It has generated more revenue from 2004 and it has ensured returns for all its state members. 25 state members share the money generated through media rights and sponsors,” he said here.

Supreme Court allows Yes Bank plea but refuses stay on HC proceedings

Mumbai: Yes Bank Ltd on Tuesday approached the Supreme Court challenging an order by a two-judge bench of the Bombay high court on the maintainability of a suit filed by Madhu Kapur, the widow of Yes Bank co-founder Ashok Kapur.

The Supreme Court admitted the bank’s plea and has scheduled a hearing in January 2015, Yes Bank said in an emailed statement on Tuesday.

SBI cuts some deposit rates

Mumbai: State Bank of India (SBI) on Tuesday said it will reduce interest rates on some deposits effective from Friday.

The bank has cut deposit rates of Rs.1 crore or more in two buckets by 25 basis points each. One basis point is one-hundredth of a percentage point. The bank will pay 6.25% interest on deposits of Rs.1 crore or more in the seven days to 60 days bucket, down from 6.50%, while deposits in the 61 days to less than one year bucket will yield 6.75%, down from 7%.

State-owned Air India, which is focusing on its turnaround plan, has stopped flying on nine unprofitable routes in the last two years to cut down on its losses.

According to information submitted in Parliament recently, the airline was not able to meet even variable costs like fuel on such routes and losses on them since 2011 had accumulated to Rs 455 crore.
