After burning its hand with GVK Transportation, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will soon put the Shivpuri-Dewas road project in Madhya Pradesh for rebidding. The project, first awarded to GVK Transportation in January 2012, was terminated by NHAI due to the company's failure to achieve financial closure for the project.

The project value, Rs 2,815 crore at that time, would now be Rs 4,000 crore owing to escalation in input costs, a senior NHAI official said. Even before NHAI terminated the contract, GVK had walked out of the project, citing delays in getting various clearances.

NEW DELHI: The Competition Commission, which has put the multi-billion dollar Sun-Ranbaxy deal for public scrutiny, on Friday said the major issue is whether the combination would result in high market concentration of certain molecules.

"This is the first case" of combination where the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has gone for a public scrutiny, the fair trade watchdog's chairman Ashok Chawla said. In April this year, Sun Pharma and Ranbaxy had announced a $4-billion deal that would create one of the top five largest speciality generics company in the world.

Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has launched a BlackBerry-10 smartphone app to book train tickets, as per an Economic Times report. The app is available at Blackberry store and offers services like reservation status, train schedules, train rutes, availability of tickets, cancellation, booking history etc.

At present, on IRCTC around 5 lakh tickets are booked daily. Recently, it had also introduced an app for windows phone and Windows 8 devices, in partnership with software maker company, Microsoft. These apps were available free for download from windows phone store.
