Reliance Industries were trading lower by 1% at Rs 922 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in early morning trade on profit bookings.

The stock has rallied 16.5% from its 52-week low of Rs 796 touched on March 30, 2015, compared with 1.3% rise in the CNX Nifty till yesterday.

Coal India draws logistics strategy to push coal evacuation

PSU behemoth Coal India, which is facing constraints in evacuation infrastructure, is planning to realign its logistics management of railway rakes to increase evacuation by additional 5-8 per cent.

"We are trying to push for higher evacuation capability. We are trying leverage the existing rail rakes available and utilise them to the optimum to move more coal," Coal India chairman Sutirtha Bhattacharya told PTI.

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas on Sunday said it has called the globally renowned oil and gas blowout control experts Boots & Coots from US to contain fire at a gas well near Surat in which 12 persons were injured.

"The Well Olpad-31 caught fire during repair maintenance job on Saturday. The experts are expected to reach the well site soon," the company said in a statement here.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has moved the Supreme Court, challenging a tribunal order in the matter of disclosure norm violations by real estate major DLF. The regulator filed its appeal last week and has sought an early hearing, according to two people in the know.

The appeal contests several grounds of the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) order. "One of the observations in the SAT order was that clearance of the Sebi board was not taken before initiating investigation proceedings. On this, the appeal has said the investigation was directed by the Delhi high court in 2011," one of them said.

German automobile firm Volkswagen is planning to make India a low-cost manufacturing hub, which will cater to emerging and developed markets.

Also, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Make-in-India initiative, the company will be spending Rs 1,500 crore on localisation and producing cost-effective products, Volkswagen India chief representative Mahesh Kodumudi told the PTI on the sidelines of the Hannover Fair in Germany.

The country's largest information technology (IT) services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), believes the huge cash payout in FY15 will not affect its cash flow or its ability to invest in growth areas. The company also said that the idea behind the bonus payout was to allow the 250,000 employees to use it the way they want to.

Rajesh Gopinathan, chief financial officer, said that even after the payout of Rs 2,628 crore as employee bonus, the company is left with an additional cash reserve of Rs 1,000 crore.

Widening its net to check generation of black money, the Income Tax department has introduced significant changes in the income tax return form starting assessment year 2015-16. Taxpayers will now have to disclose instances of foreign travel, details of their bank accounts in the country along with usage of balance in capital gain account schemes.

Relief obtained on account of tax treaties will also need to be mentioned in the returns for 2015-16.

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered a search of all the offices and warehouses of online retailer Snapdeal, following complaints that the company was selling prescription drugs without proper licence.

Other online retail giants such as Flipkart and Amazon will also be reviewed for possible breach of law, said FDA commissioner Dr. Harshdeep Kamble.

SEBI bars 129 entities, suspects money laundering

In a fresh crackdown on suspected tax evasion and laundering of black money through stock markets, regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Friday barred Mishka Finance and Trading and 128 other entities from the securities market.

While the total amount involved could not be ascertained, these entities are estimated to have shown fictitious capital gains to the tune of Rs.254 crore and just 29 of them made unlawful gains to the tune of Rs. 92 crore on an investment of just Rs. 2 crore.
