Days after calling off the $10 billion merger with Zee Entertainment, Japanese media giant Sony has moved a Singapore court against the Indian company, alleging a breach of the merger pact, according to a report by the Times of India (ToI).
It added that Zee is likely to counter Sony's claims in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. This would include Sony's demand for a $90 million termination fee from Zee.

Parts of Delhi-NCR received light rain on Wednesday, but the air quality index (AQI) remained in the 'very poor' category at 392 at 10 am in the national capital, the government data for air quality showed. This marks a slight dip compared to Tuesday, when the average AQI was noted at 368, according to Central Pollution Control Board's data.
A thin layer of fog surrounded the region as the visibility hovered at 500 metres at Delhi's primary weather station, Safdarjung, and at 700 metres at Palam station at 7 am, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Nodwin Gaming, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies, on Wednesday, announced that it will acquire a 100 per cent stake in Comic Con India at a valuation of Rs 55 crore. Comic Con India is famous for hosting multiple pop cultural festivals in India.
In the announcement, Nazara Tech said that the acquisition will take place through a combination of cash and share swaps from Jatin Varma and Karan Kalra, the founders of Comic Con India. Varma and Kalra will, however, continue to operate the business as a part of Nodwin Gaming.

L&T Finance Holdings Ltd’s (LTFH) consolidated net profit rose by 41 per cent year-on-year to Rs 640 crore in the third quarter ended December 2023 (Q3 FY24), on the back of robust business performance and strong net interest margins (NIMs) and fees. It had posted a net profit of Rs 453 crore in Q3 FY23.
Its Net Interest Income (NII) on a consolidated basis grew by 8 per cent Y-o-Y to Rs 1,833 crore in Q3 FY24 as against Rs 1,693 crore in the quarter ended December 2022 (Q3 FY23). Its NIMs plus Fees improved to 10.93 per cent in Q3 FY24 from 8.80 per cent in Q3 FY23.

Samsung will be rolling out its 3D spatial audio technology called Immersive Audio Model and Formats (IAMF) later this year. According to a report on Android Authority, stating analyst Chris Chinnock, Samsung last year announced that it has been working in collaboration with Google to develop a new Immersive Audio model for TVs, sound bars and more. Recently, it spoke with industry professionals about its plans for IAMF at the Consumer Electronic Show 2024 (CES 2024) and confirmed that the new audio format will start rolling out later this year.

Quinte Financial Technologies, a global fintech firm headquartered in the United States, has entered a partnership with the Tamil Nadu government to establish technology development centres in Tier-II cities of the state.
Quinte and the state have signed a memorandum of understanding to use people skilled in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), automation, and banking and finance for the development centres.

The newly inaugurated state-of-the-art Ram mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya is a blend of tradition and technology in terms of its construction. Built to last 1,000 years and constructed in the traditional 'Nagara' style, the temple also has a unique feature – the Surya Tilak mechanism. This mechanism is designed in a manner that the Sun rays will fall on Lord Ram's forehead every year at noon on Ram Navami.
The phenomenon will last for about six minutes on Ram Navami, celebrated on the ninth day of the first month of the Hindu calendar, to mark the birth of Lord Ram, Union minister Jitendra Singh announced on the eve of the consecration ceremony on Sunday.

Prosus, the largest shareholder in Swiggy, may be classified as a promoter in the upcoming initial public offering (IPO) of the online food and grocery delivery company, according to a report by The Economic Times (ET). Prosus, the Dutch-listed investment arm of South African conglomerate Naspers, has been attempting to reduce its holding in Swiggy from 33 per cent to below 26 per cent. However, talks with potential investors for the stake reduction have not been successful.
Under Indian regulations, a shareholder holding 26 per cent or more is considered a promoter, subjecting them to restrictions on the shares they can sell post-IPO.

To address housing concerns and target problematic institutions, Canada's Immigration Minister, Marc Miller, has announced a cap on the number of student visas to be issued over the next two years while addressing a press conference in Ottawa on Monday. The cap will be effective for two years, with a reassessment planned for 2025.
This news comes weeks after the United Kingdom (UK) more stringent international visa norms for Indian students.
