State-owned Coal India Tuesday said the stock in some of its mines has increased due to regulated lifting by the power producers.

"Due to regulated lifting by the power houses, coal stock has increased in some of the mines of Coal India Ltd," the PSU said in a filing to BSE.

The bank has already opened 14 such branches - one in each regional hub. Speaking to TOI, SBI chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya said, "Supporting women to grow is an idea that is central to our philosophy of being the 'Banker to every Indian'. SBI has initiated steps to ensure that at least one all-women branch is there for each district.

New Delhi, Mar 8 (Agencies): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday withdrew his Budget proposal to tax withdrawal of savings accumulated in the employees provident fund (EPF) scheme.

”In view of representations received, the government would like to do a comprehensive review of this proposal and therefore I withdraw the proposal,” Jaitley said in a suo motu statement in the Lok Sabha.

ICICI Bank on Monday announced the 'iWork@home' initiative on the eve of International Women's Day, where women employees will now be allowed to work from home for a year, which can be extended.

The programme has a three-level security protocol which ensures that only the concerned employee is able to access the system. The second initiative is meant for women managers with young children up to the age of 3 years where the bank will foot the travel and stay cost of their children and the caregivers.

Ford India, the seventh largest player in the domestic passenger vehicle market, has emerged as the largest exporter in the month of February. The company shipped more cars than Hyundai and Maruti, the two top exporters in the April-February period.

With its low single-digit growth and expanded capacity following the commencement of Gujarat plant last year, exports have become critical for Ford. The American car maker shipped 11,823 vehicles to more than 50 destinations last month.

Axis Bank plans to increase headcount by 10% in FY17

Axis Bank, India’s third-largest private sector lender, has decided to step up hiring. After going slow on hiring for two years, the lender would increase its headcount in the next financial year by 10 per cent, said Rajesh K Dahiya, group executive (human resources), Axis Bank.

The bank had increased its headcount to 42,420 in March 2014 from 21,640 in the corresponding month in 2010. The number of employees, though, fell in 2014-15, despite the bank increasing the number of branches from 2,402 to 2,589. By March 2015, the headcount dropped to 42,230. However, the employee base rose to 47,876 by December 2015.
