The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament, which begins after the ongoing ICC T-20 World Cup concludes next month, is expected to get Sony Pictures Network (SPN, earlier called Multi Screen Media India), the tournament's official broadcaster, close to Rs 1,100 crore in advertising revenue.
Rohit Gupta, president, network sales, at SPN, told this newspaper they'd managed to sell most of the inventory despite hiking ad rates.
