Apollo Hospitals signs MoU with Osler Health for research in chronic disease

Apollo Hospitals has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with William Osler Health System (Osler) to collaborate on research and treatement services related to a range of diseases including Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Cancer.

The organizations will initiate a pilot project to enhance the continuity of care for patients with complex needs traveling between India and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Canada for extended periods of time.

Mumbai: State-owned energy explorers that surrendered 69 inoperative oilfields to the government in 2014 want to be paid for the initial exploratory work they did before these fields are put up for auction, four persons familiar with the development said.

The 69 so-called marginal fields were discovered and granted to Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) and Oil India Ltd but were not developed due to factors such as small reserve size, economic unviability and lack of infrastructure.

Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has decided against allowing the two national stock exchanges to launch commodity trading platforms in the near term, said three people familiar with the development.

Both the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE) and BSE Ltd had sought permission to launch commodity trading on their exchanges after Sebi began regulating the commodity markets last year.

“We have been informed that fresh images from satellite has shown that the effective area under fire in Uttarakhand has come down to 110-115 locations from the earlier about 427.”

State Bank of India, the country's largest lender, has reduced its home loan rate by 5 basis points to 9.40 per cent. The revision in the rate follows reduction in the one year marginal cost of fund rate to 9.15 per cent from 9.20 per cent.

The new rate came into effect from May 1.
