New Delhi: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will soon bid out 33 sites across national highways in the country for its ambitious projects of way/road side amenities where convenience clusters for travellers will be build.

The sites shortlisted are Dongargaon in Nagpur, Ramanthapur in Tamil Nadu, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Golara in Uttar Pradesh.

Shares of State Bank of India (SBI) and its three listed associate banks State Bank of Mysore (SBM), State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur (SBBJ) and State Bank of Travancore (SBT) rallied by up to 13% in intra-day trade after the Cabinet approves merger of SBI with five subsidiaries.

Among the individual stocks, SBM has rallied 13% to Rs 638, while SBBJ and SBT surged 11% each at Rs 796 and Rs 619, respectively, on the BSE in intra-day trade. Of these SBJJ hit a record high, while SBT touched 52-week high on the BSE.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has informed the BSE in a filing that its board of directors would consider a proposal for buyback of equity shares of the company at its meeting to be held on February 20, 2017.

The buyback, if approved in the board meeting, would be the company's first since its listing in 2004.

As US president Donald Trump keeps the world on tenterhooks with his protectionist ways that can have a debilitating impact on the Indian IT sector, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Wednesday advised the industry to look at it as a blessing in disguise to focus on home market.

"Trump can actually be a blessing in disguise. The domestic IT industry can focus on solving problems right here, which is a huge market," Ambani told the three-day Nasscom leadership forum that opened here today.

Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday launched limited edition of its multi-purpose vehicle Ertiga, priced between Rs 7.85 lakh and Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The limited edition Ertiga would be available only in the VXi and VDi variants in three colours. It will have all-new body colour, alloy wheels, wooden finish interior and premium seat covers, the company said in a statement.

In a major expansion drive, national passenger carrier Air India on Wednesday said it plans to add six new international destinations to its network in 2017.

"We are going to add six more international spots this year," said Ashwani Lohani, Chairman and Managing Director, Air India.

Realty major DLF’s net debt rose by Rs 1,257 crore to Rs 24,397 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal as its cash-flows were hit due to fall in housing sales amid negative sentiment in the property market post demonetisation. DLF projected net debt to rise further as “weak sales and collections” would lead to operating shortfall of Rs 750-1,000 crore per quarter, according to an analyst presentation.

After two years of delay, the revival of Rs 8,000-crore Talcher project in Odisha is likely to take-off soon as the technology to be used for an integrated coal gasification-cum-fertiliser production facility has been finalised. Soon, a techno-economic feasibility study of the project will be conducted and thereafter bids will be invited for selecting a technology partner for coal gasification. A decision in this regard was taken in the recent board meeting of the joint venture firm Talcher Fertilisers Ltd which is executing the project.
